So March was a mess. Trying to get back into the swing of things for April, starting with Wheeljack! I have spent a LOT of time with this toy and I absolutely love it.
Wheeljack represents the present day pinnacle of toy technology, specifically for Transformers. This technology allows for him to be both incredibly pose-able, have tons of paint applications, AND is incredibly good looking in both modes.
Wheeljack is one of those characters that everyone seems to love, so it’s great that he received the WFC treatment. I know a lot of people were annoyed that he didn’t get a Siege release, but it’s hard to hold a grudge with a toy this well crafted. The paint apps specifically are incredible, especially his racing details!
He’s just a fun toy over all. I’ve had a blast posing him, adding Battle Masters, and having him interact with Prime and Omega Supreme.
He might measure up a little short to the old CHUG line, but that doesn’t mean much to me at least. I usually keep separate lines.
The G1 Wheeljack toy was one of the coolest of the Autobot cars to me and this Wheeljack reminds me of how much fun I had with him as a kid.
BOTTOM LINE:
I cannot recommend this toy enough. He’s easily the best Wheejack in recent years and is just an over all gem of a Transformer toy. There are very few, very minor drawbacks. The paint apps are very intricate so as a general rule they’re a little less durable so rough handling potentially could scratch them. Also he could use a wrench or something, but meh. That’s what Battle Masters are for.
